Chapter 25: Living from Greatness
“There was something formless and perfect
before the universe was born.
It is serene. Empty. Solitary. Unchanging.
Infinite. Eternally present.
It is the mother of the universe.
For lack of a better name, I call it the Tao.
It flows through all things, inside and outside, and returns to the origin of all things.”
This verse encourages us to recognise and live from the eternal greatness within us — the part of us that existed before names, identities, or roles. Wayne Dyer sees this chapter as a call to remember your divine origins, your eternal connection to the Tao (or Source, God, the Infinite).
Living from greatness doesn’t mean egoic superiority. It means recognising that you are an expression of the same vast, formless intelligence that spins galaxies and grows trees. Greatness is your natural state when you remove limitations, conditioning, and false beliefs.
Rather than chasing greatness in external achievements, this chapter teaches that true greatness is your alignment with the Tao — the formless, boundless source within and beyond all.
Key Concepts:
Living from greatness is living in alignment with that quiet power.
You come from divine origins — you are greatness in form.
Stop defining yourself through the material; instead, live from the eternal.
The Tao is infinite, silent, still — yet it moves through all things.
Actionable Steps: Living from Greatness
- Meditate on Your True Nature
- Sit quietly and ask: “What was I before my name, my job, my roles?”
- Let yourself feel the eternal awareness beneath the identity.
- Detach from Labels and Status
- Avoid introducing yourself only by what you do or own.
- Reconnect to who you are: presence, consciousness, spirit.
- Practice Humble Reverence
- Greatness doesn’t boast — it uplifts.
- Honour the Tao by acting with humility, compassion, and steadiness.
- Speak, Act, and Think from the “Higher Place”
- Before reacting, pause. Ask: “What would the Tao in me do?”
- Respond from the eternal part of you, not your ego or fear.
- Engage in Creative Stillness
- Let inspired action emerge from stillness.
- Don’t rush; instead, allow ideas and solutions to flow from within.
- Honor the Greatness in Others
- Look beyond flaws and behaviours — see the Tao in them.
- Recognising greatness in others reflects your own.
- Trust in Divine Timing
- The Tao doesn’t rush — yet all things are accomplished.
- Let go of forcing and learn to flow.
